Nowadays, most online services offer free trials to their potential customer. They want us to try their services and hopefully convert us into customers at the end of the trial period.
However, I’m sure that at least once in your life, has happened that you completely forgot to set a reminder to cancel a subscription. It happens to me very often, and it isn’t great to wake up in the morning and notice you’ve been charged for a service or product that you didn’t want to pay for.
If you’re an iPhone user, you might already know that you can manage your iTunes subscriptions and cancel the renewal straight after signing up. You won’t lose your benefits until the end of the trial period. If you didn’t know about this, I’d recommend you check out this article by Lifewire.
But you won’t always be able to manage your subscriptions on iTunes, and some of the services you sign up might stop the trial benefits if you cancel too early. Therefore, I’ve created this awesome and Free Apple iOS Shortcut that will remind you when it’s time to cancel the renewal of a subscription so you won’t have any unpleasant surprises in the morning.
Configure the Apple iOS Shortcut

Once you’ve downloaded this iPhone shortcut, it’s now time to configure it. Follow the instructions on your phone’s screen to set up:
- Choose your calendar: The reminder will go there
That’s it, you’re ready to go!
How to use this Free Apple iOS Shortcut
Setting up the renewal date is extremely simple. Just tap the Apple iOS Shortcut icon on your iPhone and answer the following questions:
- What's the subscription name? Eg. 'Netflix', 'Amazon Prime'...
- When does the free trial end? Pick the correct date
- How many days before do you want to be reminded? Pick the number of days. Choose "0" if you want to be reminded on the same day (Not recommended).
That’s all set, your iPhone will remind you when it’s time to cancel the subscription!

Learn how to disable the shortcut restriction
The Shortcuts app has a block on any shortcut you download from the web for privacy reasons but you can disable this restriction. The toggle to enable Untrusted Shortcuts in the Settings app only appears when you use a shortcut.
Use one of the shortcut from the library for the first time
When the popup appears, tap “Ok”
Open the Settings app, navigate to the “Shortcuts” section
Toggle-On the “Allow Untrusted Shortcuts” option
Tap “Allow" and type your device passcode to confirm
